The Coastal Walk Trail will provide access to the Island's many beautiful natural features and an insight into its wealth of cultural history.
The Trail will traverse the coastal dunes and limestone cliffs which fringe Rottnest Island as well as pass through the settlements of Thomson, Geordie and Longreach Bays and across the centre of the Island.
The Trail will manage the conflict between visitor pressures and environmental values. It will reduce human impact on the coastal dune systems, allow rehabilitation of existing erosion areas and potential erosion prone sites whilst enhancing the visitors' experience through various trail experiences highlighting environmental, historical and cultural significance.
The Foundation has to date contributed just under $50,000 towards Stage II - Site Development Plan of the Coastal Walk Trail.
